I started kayaking in 1991 when my father took me to the local kayak club at the age of eleven. I started the classical club-career with a lot of flat-water paddling. But when I got thirteen the guys took me to the wild Tessin and I tasted blood. When I came home after that trip with a broken helmet I really decided to learn kayaking and rolling and my parents bought me my first polyethylen-kayak, a Eskimo Diablo. With this boat I spent as much time as possible on the rivers. When I was eighteen and got my driving license I started travelling europe with my kayak.
In 2004, after working in some kayak schools and shops, me and my girlfriend founded our own kayak school and since that year we spent more than 20 weeks a year on the beautiful rivers and landscapes all over Europe.
1991 habe ich mit dem Paddeln begonnen. Natürlich, wie es sich bei uns im Ruhrgebiet gehört, klassisch auf den Kanälen und Wanderflüssen der Umgebung. Als ich dreizehn wurde schleppten mich die Kameraden dann das erste Mal ins Tessin. Als ich von dem Trip mit gesprengten Helm und wundem Hals, ich hatte mir das Wurfsackseil beim Schwimmen drum gewickelt, nach Hause kam entschied ich schnellstmöglich besser paddeln zu lernen. Meine ahnungslosen Eltern kauften mir dann auch mein erstes gescheites Boot, einen Diablo. Seitdem bin ich so oft wie möglich auf dem Wasser gewesen. Seit ich 2004 zusammen mit meiner Freundin die eigenen Kanuschule gegründet habe sind das gut 20 Wochen im Jahr in denen ich jede Minute auf dem Fluss und in der Natur genieße.
