Liquid Norway

Norway 2009…that meant rain and rain and….guess what….rain. But rain means perfect levels, so it also had something good for us kayakers.

The facts:

  • 21 days
  • 21 swims
  • 3 lost paddles
  • 2 broken cars
  • 3 briken boats – no LiquidLogics ;-)
  • 2 lost throw-bags
  • 2 broken helmets
  • 1 bounced thigh
  • 3 bounced ribs
  • 1 compressed backbone

In face of all the things which happend to us it was a good trip all in all. We really could enjoy this beatiful country to the full.

Markus Nitzke runs on of the drops at the Homerun section at Mar river.

We visited the country of the trolls for 3 weeks in July. Our team was amazing and really huge…with Anton and me (Max) there were Helga Lehner (AUT, Team Prijon), Florian Zaczek (GER, Team Robson), Florian Hartmann, Christian “Prokayak” Bockaja, Marion Müller vom Berge, Markus Nitzke and Martin Kaltenbach with us. Some days our team got support by one of the locals, Michael Motz who told a lot of funny stories. Thx Michael. The last days of our trip Julian Mihé (GER, Team Fluid) and Wastl Bastl joined us.
Last but not least Jonas Grünwald (GER) and Mo Kennedy (NZL) paddled some rivers with us.

Anton Lehner boofs the Little Huka Falls at the Rauma.

Norways expanse is just a little bit smaller than Germanys, but it just has 4 billion inhabitands (GER has 82 billion). Though the wilderness begins when you leave the ferry. Crystal creeks, amazing waterfalls, a colorful nature and absolutly hospitable people.

But what should I tell more, check the picutes and out video.
