my first trip ever to norway

Stomping NorwayThis year I had the opportunity to spend 7 weeks in the country of trolls, mosquitos, sun 24/7 and whitewater everywhere. We started our trip in the south of Norway, the Telemark. Levels were already low there, but we could still paddle the Cali-Section on the Augsbygdai- truely a classic!
After doing laps on the Augsbygdai for a few days we decided to move on and drove to Voss.
Voss is the capital of whitewater kayaking in Norway, so many awesome rivers around which offer several sections at any waterlevel. Every year the Ekstremsportveko takes part in Voss and that’s the time where you want to be there. Heaps of kayakers and serveral other outdoor people, partys every night and super sick events like extremraces, teamraces or boatercross events  every day.

Alone on the river short movie “Nepal”

Nepal KayakingThe Nepal expedition was a greatest, hardest but amazing trip that the team member Raphael Thiebaut and Stephane Pion had never done !!! Here is a short movie about this experience,  nine days walking and twenty days paddling through the upper Dolpo. The long version will be screening in premier to the paddle expo show beginning of October.

2013 Freestyle Worlds

Kayak Freestyle WorldsWell, I didn’t expect that one!! I spent the last two months at the NOC training for the Freestyle Worlds, hoping that I would at least make the first cut. I was not super consistent on my McNasty’s or Phonix Monkeys but I was hoping to make a showing.

Slowing it Down

Read more about "Slowing it Down"I was hoping to be ending my three part series of my Middle Salmon trip pretty quickly, that did not happen. Only a few days after posting my second part of the series my best friend, Shannon Christy (and large part of my Salmon trip) died in a kayaking accident on the Potomac River. My world began to spin and suddenly my summer changed from being the best summer I have ever had in my life to hearing the worst news and feeling the most heartbroken that I have felt.
