This is Rauma

Mariann Saether on the first rapid of the Rauma

This summer a lot of European Liquidlogic team members spent some time in Norway. I was there myself to make an article for the magazines. The article will be about the Sjoa valley, check your favorite mag to see some cool photos and have infos about that paddling paradise. But as we were there we went for  2 days with Mariann Saether and Ron fisher to the Rauma.

We joined there a group of kiwi paddlers and spent one of the nicest day of the season. But enough said here are a few photos of the Rauma:

Val sesia Teva contest

I was in Valsesia this W.E. to make a portract of Fred Gilardone, secretary of the comite for val sesia preservation.

Teva Extreme Games - Val Sesia

Fred charging the sesia in his wave hopper.

They now have a 20 year protection plan for the rivers in the area.

And there was a nice event there so I registered because they were pushing me. There was at least 3 to 4 years that I haven’t done any competition. Saturday was a boarder cross were i took the 3rd place not bad knowing the best italien were there. And sunday I finished 5th at the 6mn downriver race, only 10s from the first one without having ever paddled that section of the sesia :D

All in all pretty happy of the W.E. especially as I get to know more Fred wich is a very nice and interesting guy.

A quick photo of me taken by fred on the sorba:

Video Ticino is online

Here you can see the video we made for French national TV in April. As broadcasted on May 8th . There’s a few mistakes as always with TV journalists, Ticino is not in Val d’Aoste ;)

But it shows pretty well our sport. And it’s always good to see a bit of kayak on national TV on a Saturday afternoon.

Enjoy:

2 Jefe Grande on French National TV

Hello All!

This is my first post here. So I won’t be long.

Just a quick news to let you know that this Saturday 8 of May at 18H00 there’ll be a 6mn program  during the ADN TV Show. This show is usually watched by 3,5 millions television viewers. Not bad for creek boating ;-) Usually in France you don’t see kayaks on TV execpt once every 4 years for the Olympics. So it’s pretty new and very interesting to be able to show nice kayaking on TV. The story is about Alex “Jakette” Besseau, 3rd place C1 freestyle at the last worlds. He usually use Gui Gui Prod boat but for that mission I gave him my old Liquidlogic Jefe Grande. It’s a road trip where I introduce him to running waterfalls, the climax is the classic Ribo drop, a clean 16 meter drop. That’s for the story, we were pretty lucky with sun and water level so there should be some nice images.

The show can be podcasted here for a week after it has been broadcasted:
