The week before Christmas the temperatures rose and it rained a bit. So the forecast was promising. I tried to gather some motivated kayakers which wasn’t that easy to find a couple of days before Christmas Eve. Some had to go to work, others had exams at college and there even were those who don’t want to go kayaking if the temperatures are around the forties (°F = 5°C). Anywho I found at least one guy to join me, Philipp Much.

Norway 2011 Roadtrip Part II
The first week has passed and some nice runs were done. After Rauma river we drove to Dombås to run the Upper Jori. The Jori is an awesome creek with very cool slides. Probably the very first big slide is runnable but the entry drop has some bad consequences in the landing zone. So we didn’t run the entry drop but the rest of the slide.
Norway 2011 Roadtrip Part I
After travelling 2400 KM yesterday and the day before I finally arrived in Norway and met up with some friends from Switzerland. My 2011 Norway roadtrip started, one month of finest whitewater in an amazing landscape, here we go. The first river on the schedule was the Rauma in Møre og Romsdal area in mid Norway. We started with the upper section. It is the perfect pool and drop river with some very cool rapids. Susanne Spoelmink was the only one of us three who paddeld this section before, so it was a bit exciting for Reiner Glanz and me.
